Imaginary Flower

Colored pencils:
Black, Claret red, Dark green, Grass green, Lemon Yellow, Light green, Light violet, Violet, Red, Pink, Silver, Turquoise, Vermilion, Yellow and Yellow marker in the mid part of the flower

For background:
one layer of Black colored pencil, second layer of Black marker.

Canvas size:
10’’x13’’

Time: 1 to 2 weeks


I made this for my facebook friend AQIB. It was his request to draw anything for him.
This is an imaginary flower. I used some reference images for pose and for the study of depths, light and shadows.

This drawing is also for the “Color theory Course- Complimentary colors” assignment for group

I used green-yellow and violet-red.

Sorry I needed to use black color to give depths. The product that I used was not of very good quality and I worked with 24 colored set. I was not able to blend colors very much and did not have other darker green color that’s why used silver and black for depths. Used some pink in the violet flower for depth to separate petals from each other but I don’t think it worked very well. The dark spots on petals are done with pink color, I wet the tip of the colored pencil then used it.

Artwork is described as accurately as possible, although variations in individual PC monitor hues make it impossible for the artwork to look the same on every PC.
